Dr Appt Follow-up & Crafty
I had my dr appt this afternoon (usually I've had morning appointments). For some reason, I was expecting it to take all afternoon but I was out of the office within the hour - that hasn't happened in quite a long time.
I only waited for about 20 minutes this time to be called in. The nurse took my weight & blood pressure - everything is well and right on track. Personally I'm a little disappointed in the amount of weight I've gained overall (8 lbs above where I would have liked to be), but at least I'm consistently gaining what I should for each appointment. The nurse & doctor both commented that the weight & blood pressure are good, so I guess I can't complain.
I waited for maybe 10 minutes for the doctor to come in and it was again Dr. J as Dr. E was on call this week. Dr. J was very nice, as she has been each time I've seen her. I asked her a few questions, I explained that I began to get quite achey this week and told here where the pain areas were. She said that it was quite common at the end of pregnancy and I could take tylenol, or a warm bath/shower to try to relieve the pain. She then measured my belly and said I was measuring exactly where I should be and she was pleased with the progress. She listened to his heartbeat after we had a discussion as to what body part was where (she felt around a bit and confirmed where I thought his butt was). His heartbeat is, in the doctor's words, perfect!
She explained that at the next appointment we would do the Group B Strep screening (oh joy) and then after that I would be coming in every week. WOW - we're really at that point now.
So, all in all a very easy and good appointment. Now it's just a matter of getting used to the aches.
On yet another positive note, I wanted to share the cutest bookends in the whole world. Of course you could buy these somewhere but they'd cost you $30+. I made these with help from Dan (he did the cutting & nailing) and Alyson, she helped paint & attach the baseballs. And they're that much cuter because they were made with love & craftiness. Plus they match the theme of the room - perfectly! Wait til you see the little hooks I'm in the middle of finishing...
