Decisions, Decisions, Decisions...
There is no wrong answer - but on the other hand, there is no right answer, either.
Dan & I had meetings with a daycare center & a pediatrician that are both located within 2 miles of work. We both liked them and had no reservations about either in regards to why we wouldn't want to sign with them. So that leads me to the following question - if we're comfortable with the daycare/pediatrician, why would we go look at additional places or meet with other doctors?
You can look at this from either perspective.
From a "research" perspective, we should meet with others to be able to compare and find out if there are others we like. We should check out other centers because they may offer different programs. And it's always good to have options.
However if you look at it from the other perspective that we met with a doctor who we liked, will be honest with us and not just push drugs on the kid and if necessary make a house call (who does that these days). And he's right down the street from work. We also toured a center that we liked, wasn't nearly expensive as some of the others in the area, and has availability for our timeframe. The center is 2 minutes from work and we can go visit anytime we want during the day and the pick up/drop off times work for us.
Hmmm...
I'm of the belief of the 2nd perspective. If you found someone you liked and wanted to date, would you keep trying to meet other people until you found someone that might be better? Plus, I also feel that we're running out of time and we are running the risk of not having a spot anywhere if we don't make a decision.
Dan's from the first perspective, and as I like to call him "Research Dan". He likes to research everything. He feels it doesn't hurt to have options and more than one opinion.
To be honest, his research should have started back in November when I first received the list of centers, not 7 1/2 weeks before the baby is born.
So we do have another appt with a pediatrician next week that was already made. As of right now, I'll keep that appointment and see what happens. We don't really have a lot of choices for daycare centers because a lot of places I called no longer have availability.
Dan found two more centers and he's going to call them to find out their prices & availability because if they're higher than the place we looked at, why spend even more money. And if they don't have availability, why waste our time & their time.
Just my two cents and things that are sprinting around my mind this week...

Here's a question/thought- Can you sign up with the day care to guarantee yourselves a spot and then continue to research others? Obviously this won't work if there's a sizeable deposit that you wouldn't get back, but it could also offer piece of mind of having a place guaranteed but still being able to do a bit more research.
Good luck!
We thought of that but most places I've spoken to do have non-refundable deposits. The place we looked at is 1 half-month and I don't want to give that up if I can't get it back.
