Boring Dr. Appt...

Yesterday was my 32 Week Dr Appt.

And I have one word to sum it up: Boring. I guess if it had to be one word 'boring' is better than bad, nervous, or disappointing.

My appointment was at 10:45 and I sat in the waiting room for almost 45 minutes (at least Finding Nemo was on) until I was called in. I did the usual urine sample, weight, & blood pressure with the nurse. All are fine & right on target. The nurse was very happy with where my blood pressure & weight were. (Again, I was hoping the weight was a little lower, but I'll take it because it was a good weight gain since the last appt)

Then Dr. J came in about 25 minutes later. Dr. J was the super-cautious one who ordered the Non-Stress Test. Dr. E was unavailable this week because she's on call. Dr. J came in, measured my belly & listened for the heartbeat. She said I was measuring right on point for my due date and that she was very pleased with how everything was progressing.

As she went to listen for his heartbeat, she started high & to the left. I knew she wouldn't find it there but I didn't say anything (I didn't want to get scolded for having a non-medical listening device). She then tried lower and started to hear something. I'm thinking to myself that if she just went a little lower & to the right, she'd find it. And low & behold, that's where it was.

And that was that - I waited over an hour for 5 minutes with the doctor to basically hear "things are progress fine". Thanks, even without medical training I knew that.

Side Note: If I didn't talk to other pregnant women about Dr. Appointments, I would seriously consider switching offices but because EVERY other woman has told me that they always wait quite a long time and then only see the Dr for 5 minutes, then at least I know it's not just me or my doctor's office. Why is it that they make you wait? I just don't get it. Oh well - only 5 appointments left! (Can you believe that?!)
